Parle Agro to set up its largest Beverage Manufacturing Plant in Uttarakhand’s Sitarganj

North India to witness third factory of Parle Agro at Sitarganj after Ghaziabad & Varanasi


Mumbai: With a commitment to cater to rising demands, Parle Agro has announced that it will be setting up its factory in Sitarganj, Uttarakhand. This will be the third manufacturing facility that Parle Agro will be setting up in the northern part of India after Ghaziabad and Varanasi. Including the franchise business, this will be the 75th manufacturing facility that Parle Agro will be coming up in the country.

Parle Agro has finalised a 12 acre land in the area and will be investing Rs. 200 crore to set up the factory. The plant at Sitarganj, Uttarakhand will be set up to manufacture its fruit juice based drink and preforms. The facility is expected to be operational by end of the year.

Speaking on the development, Ms. Nadia Chauhan, Joint Managing Director & CMO, Parle Agro said, “Over the years, Parle Agro has continued to solidify its position within the Indian Beverage market. Achieving the second postion in the Fruit Flavoured Still Drink (FFSD) category has been a result of our continued efforts. Our upcoming largest manufacturing plant at Sitarganj is a witness to the fact that we are quite strong in the northern part of the country with the region contributing almost 45% to the business – in fact, we are already number one in cities like New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. It is an important step forward in Parle Agro’s strategy thereby further strengthening our position as a leader in all of our key markets.”

Adding further, Ms. Schauna Chauhan Saluja, CEO, Parle Agro said, “This new facility with world class technologies will amplify the capacity of our manufacturing capabilities increasing the overall production output by 40% enabling us to grow our already significant presence and be closer to our consumers and key supplier partners.”

For setting up the plant, Parle Agro has partnered with companies with expertise in design and construction to build a state of the art manufacturing facility, which is expected to benefit from leading edge technologies. In fact, Sitarganj plant would witness SCADA based fully automated system with robotic material handling system being introduced for the very first time at the plants of Parle Agro.

Today, Parle Agro boasts of a total of 76 manufacturing facilities which are spread across the country and even across the boundaries with new hi-tech machinery and technology which has increased production by three times thereby meeting consumer demands and achieving Parle Agro’s vision.
